Giving

The River View Cemetery Foundation is essential in supporting this historic and environmental landmark. Although River View is the oldest endowment care cemetery in Portland, those funds are restricted by state law and cannot be used until the cemetery is no longer able to sell interment rights. The Foundation’s purpose is to pay for special projects and programs that will further the beautification and preservation of the cemetery. Planned projects include:

  • Restoring historical gardens
  • Cataloging the many native species of trees, plants and flowers on the grounds
  • Establishing signage and materials for guided and self-guided tours for groups, individuals and the general public
  • Enhancing the grounds to ensure a safe and comfortable space for multi-faith practices, spirituality and connection
  • Continuing to develop River View into a place where local educators can teach about historical and environmental qualities of the park

Tax deductible donations can be sent to the River View Cemetery Foundation by mailing a check or money order to:
